I am a 60 years old, white, blue eyed, male, of Finnish and Polish-German ancestry's. A college graduate, with a BA in Political Science and Masters in Education, and have also completed 50% of an MBA in Management. I have minors in Psychology, History, Business Mgmt, and Law.

I blog, post, write, and whine on the Internet in Yuku, and Twitter. I write and blog under the screen name of gmmakela, and Twitter/Yuku with bentnwasted. I am a professional Pessimist, Cynic, & Radical of the Barbarian kind. My opinions never waver, I love sarcastic humor, am not muddled by happy thoughts of rainbows and puppies, nor do I run from criticism. My glass has always been half full, and it leakes!

I have lived in the states of New York, Ohio, Michigan, Colorado, and briefly Oregon. Once, I figured I have moved at least 50 times since birth. Michigan is my favorite. I have also owned at least 45 vehicles & one motorcycle since getting my drivers license in 1965.

I retired from a major Financial Services Company in 2005, worked a few survival jobs, then became homeless for about 6 months. I now live in nice public housing, use food stamps, and stoped looking for full time work (unless pay is at least $50,000/yr), just waiting till that first SS check in 2010, and am fighting diability claim.

I suffer from a few disabilities, severe arthritis of the neck (which pinches my spinal cord) and my right hip/lower back. I am in pain 24/7, but still function, more or less. Oh, yeah...I forgot, severe depression and I have PTSD. (From the UFO encounter in 1967?). My biggest pain...my last ex-wife....who I finally moved 1400 miles away from. (She will never find me!)

While never having had a normal career (had to work to support an ungrateful family), I have accomplished many things. I have been an Adult Education Instructor, JTPA Job Trainer, Design/Builder of Solar Homes and Heating Systems, a Manufacturers Rep in five states, retail management, a bookseller, Advertising/Marketing Executive, a writer, an artist, CEO of two corporations, woodworker/carpenter (like Jesus), a parent, a catcher of chickens, a scientist, a Cub Scout Leader, Chair of two City Council Committees, taught Religious Education for three years, and been a bum living in doorways. It's all good.

I recently found out my beloved Finnish Grandma ran for Congress in 1936 as a Communist Party Candidate. Hence my slight Socialistic bent. My Polish/German ancestors once had a brewery. I am trying to find a "label" for my political and social thinking.

In my "Golden Years" I hope to live on a Homestead (Perhaps my Grandfather's 80 acres in Minnesota) and raise Pygmy Goats and have a dog named Marlow and a cat named Clarise. If I ever have a grey appaloosa horse, I will name him Bucephalus.

My hobbies include golf, reading, writing, art/design, blogging, web design, and watching movies, particularly "Film Noir". I've built a boat in my basement, made stained glass art, furniture, pen and ink sketches, etc. I've had some art and poetry published.
